White Sucker

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They max out at around 18-25 inches long, eat a lot and usually need cool running high oxygenated water in rocky riffles. They arent very aggressive and eat everything from bottom ooze to bloodworms and scuds. They would need a big tank and plenty of hiding spaces if they were put with aggressive fish like sunfish, pickeral or bass. I would not recommend putting them with other bottom dwellers like catfish or plecos.

My pleasure....I get most of my info from NANFA forum and my own experience (but mainly the Nanfa forum who have several resident experts on native fish).

I was also pretty interested about white suckers. they are a very nice looking sucker fish. i actually caught a 1 1/2pound jigging for pike the other day. i figured they would be great for fish tanks. How is it doing in your tank? how did you catch a small enough one?
