So cal/ LAX
i have a 7-8 inch white tip wolf fish in a 50 gallon tank by him self right now, hes been in there for about 2 weeks and is doing really well, even got him to take some pellets. but the tank is kind of boring so im wondering if there were any fish i could add in there. i tried a 6 inch jag and they were constantly fighting usually with the jag on the losing end but i noticed the wolf fish would only attack the jag when he would attack him. if the jag would just swim by there was no reaction. so any suggestions are welcome

From what I know wolfish get about 20 to 30 inches long. I'm not sure if a 55 is big enough for a single wolffish. A 100 gallon would be better. For tank mate I wouldn't be too sure. Maybe some kind of gar, arowana, ray, or a cichla. But those fish will need a much bigger tank. I may be wrong so don't listen to my advice unless another trustworthy member says I gave correct advice

Which species is this white tipped wolf fish,I don't recall hearing that name before?

Thanks for the reply.

Try bichirs, catfish, and fast moving dithers(barbs). Would avoid aggressive/territorial fish. Some elongated fish would avoid.
