I have extremely hard water, and my ph runs about 8.8 I've tried a ph neutralizer but the water is so full ppm, it won't hold the chemicals. I started using some R/O water, is it true that white vinegar would bring it down without hurting the fish? (aro) Has anyone heard of this, is it safe and how muchper every 50 gals/what's the dosage? Do I or don't I...

never heard or tried it. better test it in a separate tank, test the water parameters and try some expendable feeder fishes on it for a little while before applying the process on your aro tank to be sure

you dont need to do anything to the water

you still have to do something, dechlorinate ofcourse. lol!

The test gallon parameters came out perfect, and the ph went down. I have a well, no chemicals but the ph naturally is over 8.8.

i've never used this method before. water here is soft so pH goes down easily...sometimes too easily.

you could try peat. bit this only brings it down slowly.

your fish wont be affected in anyway

as long as the water is clean and at the right temperature you dont need to worry bout the pH
ya as long as it stays consitant my Ph runs 8.0 out of the tap

I agree no need to fudge with ph. As long as it doesn't fluctuate up down your fish will be fine in your water's ph.

I wouldnt put vinegar in the water...
