Need some help from the experts because this question has me stumped. Have a customer who complained about a white web like substance growing on the gravel. They had tried all types of conditioners and medications and nothing worked. Recommended a better maintenance schedule(better than every six months) and stop dumping chemicals in. Comes back today and says they put the fish into a different tank, drained it, ran a bleach mixture through it, including filtration, replaced gravel and started over. White web like substance, her description, is back and growing across gravel and up the glass. Only new item is a java fern. I have several of them without any problems and they came from the same place. Any ideas?

I just had to get rid of 3 large pieces of grape vine wood that kept growing this same type of substance all over it.

So you say she replaced the gravel? Did she replace it with a different type of gravel?

Yes

I do get what I call peach fuzz on my main piece of driftwood. All I do is break out my tank toothbrush and scrub away but yeah it always comes back and no one in the tank will eat it.

Dood, I just found that on my GV wood. It was growing small bubbly clusters in some places. I didn't remove the wood just scrubbed them off.

I concure with the picture taking.

I have seen that before. I thought it was a fungus, possibly from overfeeding. I think the solution was more water movement.
