Mods plz dont delete this thread. only reason i put this in here is theres simply not enough people viewing in the fish disease forum. I have little white worms on the glass of a 2 of my tanks that i noticed last night. There real skinny and about 1/8 inch long. are these anchor worms or fluke or something else and what will kill them? thank you in advance

Do they have a triangular head? if so they are just planaria, nothing to worry about, but I'd do a couple water changes in tandum with some gravel vacuming.
Paradise gouramis will eat um.

These are mostly due to overfeeding - these are pretty harmless. As duanes said, WC (and reduced feeding frequency/portions) should do the trick.

ya i had the same thing but my uncle sais they are not a prob, they just eat the algae and uneaten food, i changed around my tank and got some baby firemouths and little tetras, and they ate them all. depending on what fish are in the tank that they are in you should just get some small fish and have them eat them, or do as stated above.

Yeah I had some of these in my cichlid tanks because I was trying to power feed them so they would grow more, but they started showing up so I stopped. havn't seen them since. Cut down on the feeding or get some bottom feeders to clean up the chunks of pellets that fall down (if you have huge cichlids they get pretty messy chewing teh pellets and it falls to the substrate).

thx guys. i was worried for awile. ive either never had this happen or ive never new they existed. ive been doing this kinda stuff for about 5 years now and cant believe ive never noticed before. thx for the advice

those are just the little critters that live in all our tanks they come out when the substrate gets to dirty just clean your substrate and do a good sized water change and they'll just go back to hideing in your substrate

Just planeria worms. Water Change and less feeding, or clean after every feeding.

FYI: Planeria worms can attach to the gills of your fish causing irritation and make the fish try to rub up against rocks and decor from the irritation but they don't do any harm to the fish.
