There are what seems to be really small white worms crawling on my glass in my 100g tank. I have a piece of drift wood in there from the local lake and I am thinking they coould have come from it. I just noticed them but there are a good many of them all ove rthe glass and they do seem to be alive because it looks as if they are crawling. The tank has been set up for almost 6 months so I am not sure why they are just now coming out....anyone got any ideas as to what they could be?

haha ok, sounds like a decent reason to me. However, it is a 100 gallon tank with only 3 smaller (4 to 6 inch) fish in it that i feed about once a day....

(most likely) It's Planaria. You have a dirty tank. It's not harmful to the fish. It's just the tanks way of telling you that you suck at keeping it clean. Clean that gravel good.;)

haha i assume that applies to sand as well? unfortunately i will not be able to clean the tank for 2 more weeks as school is getting the best of me right now. Will the tank/fish be fine for 2 more weeks and will they go away after i syphon the sand and what not or whould i try to wipe them off the sides of the tank?

I'd like to know the following.

1. What species are these fish?
2. What do you feed your fish and how much food do you use? You've already answered that you feed only once a day. Do you allow one day fasting per week?
3. What are your water parameters right now?
4. What test kit do you use?
5. Is the tank planted? If possible, post pics of your current setup.
6. How do you clean your substrate?

next time you take any drift wood from your local lakes or rivers, put the drift wood in a VERY hot water for 30mnts...that will take care of things, as far as the white worms go,,,,re-do your tank, i would .....good luck
