hey is their any way to raise a whites tree frog in the taller rubermaids?Do they realy need uvb since they are nocturnal? If you used one of these simple ruber tubs with a lid would a normal temp room be good with usual hot summers and normal house heater in the winter.I just bought some larger ones for my Ts and they would be a great size for the frogs.I just dont know how you would do lights other than the room lights witch i would think is fine.Any help?My home is around 70 in the winter and 80 to 87 in the summer until i get ac but still around 80.

Not sure what you're getting at. Are you saying they do need UVB lighting and how to go about this in the tubs?

They don't need UVB.

sorry bro,ok,now i know they dont need uvb.So the rest is can you do them up in a nice sterilite tub with my regular home temps ?How would you heat the tub if not?Would plenty of drilled holes in it be good enough or do they need screen lids? The tubs are so cheap and the ones i just got for my Ts look real good but they dont need lighting other than room light. Is that ok with the frogs?:)

yes... they should do okay with that. Might want to set up a little heat tape.
thanks guys, hey is a normal 10 gallon with screen top to short for a baby for a little while?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Keep in mind i ask alot of these questions not just because i want to know but it keeps the site active and if im wondering something you know someone else out there does to.Hopefully it will atract new members too.Didnt want you guys to think im just a nag.lol:grinno:

i give my guys uv. my female sleeps all day under the light. these guys get active right around sunset and still get some uv lighting. i saw a show on the discovery channel about a house gecko or something. its a noctunral lizard. but it comes out right before sunset. catches a few rays and from their study it showed that the little rays that it did get its body was able to make use of the same as an animal that basks out all day under the sun. so in my opinion i would set them up with a uv flourescent light. also, i decorated my tank with live plants and that obviously benefits them too.
