So fat-ee-oh is still doing well. Love watching it “hunt” the mysis shrimp. He picks a target and swims past everything very abruptly and snatched up the target. Then looks for new prey. I swear he isn’t this fat everyday, I just seem to like to take photos when it looks like he’s about to burst. Lol

Looking good Matthew (despite the temporary 'dad belly' lol) And it appears he has a Flagtail buddy like my NTT (though it's kind of a one way relationship :)) Does the FT follow him around?

Haha. Funny enough the ft mimics different fish depending on the day. But more often than not I see datio chase the ft right across the length of the tank into the bushes.

datio is enjoying his new home in the 120. Here he is with a mouthful of chopped smelt tails.

I still have not been able to figure out how to make my sump efficient so there is always crud flying around right now so I don’t take many photos yet.

Try a filter sock with a finer micron. I don’t know if that means the number is larger, or smaller, but it will pick up more of the free floating stuff.

Fatio is still doing well. He’s now able to take much larger chunks of shrimp so seems to be growing a bit faster. Not sure if it will ever really take pellets. Just watched them go by every day so he only eats 1-2 times a week when I put shrimp in the tank.

guess just have to be patient, once you are comfortable, try only feeding him once a week.
I managed to get a 10" , a 8" and a 7" dat on pellets this way

Now all 3 are eating hikari cichild gold, algae wafers and fish meat every feeding.

in fact, they choose the alage wafers over shrimp meat... but love the fish meat.... bones and all
