Well Hello... I'm brand new to this forum. I have an 1122 gal pond I'm expanding to about 1800 - 2000 gals. I found this site while searching for trees to put near my pond to replace one I have to remove from the expansion. I started with 6 California Koi and 6 fancy fin Goldfish. The Goldfish were too slow and succumbed to a heron. I have 2-3 of my original Koi left and they are about 9-10 years old. They breed just fine on their own - I have had very little to do with it other than providing them a place *S* I brought home some hyacinth a few years ago which brought in some eggs that I thought were mosquito fish. They grew into some muddy looking fish which have bred with the koi and almost all turned various gold colors.
