how do you tell it's a female. It's only 2.5-3 inches long (can't exactly get a good measurement of it).

Also, what should I be feeding it? I've tried flakes (figured it wouldn't eat them and was right), pellets (doesn't even look at them), and chopped night crawlers (looks at them but never goes for them). Should I try frozen bloodworms, live blackworms, and guppies?

The large oceli in the middle of the dorsal. Males do not have this. Also, the clear soft portion of the anal, caudal and dorsal fins. Males will have numerous small spots on this portion of their fins.

What should I try feeding her then? Hopefully I can go pick up some feeder guppies to quarantine tonight, and then I'll get them started on making more feeder guppies... Also will go pick up some live blackworms. Should I try ghost shrimp?

at first my wilds would only eat frozen blood worms (the whole cube at once) and frozen silversides. i think spending time with the other fish who only eat pellets and flakes helped it learn that it was food and now i never feed frozen, just dry

Update: At first, he wouldn't touch frozen bloodworms. I added some guppies (which I breed in another tank) and some creek chubs (which I "discovered" living in my ray tank sump, i.e. I forgot I put them in there after the ray tank originally cycled). He quickly gobbled the minnows up, then took the guppies. After that he started devouring thawed out bloodworms.
