I see lots of posts of people getting wild caught, imported, or captive bred rays, but more often than not you don't say who or where you've acquired it from. There are a couple motoros in the classifieds, I know about brent and trev, I've seen aquabid. Are there other people our places you buy from? Do we know any exporters well? I just want to know about options, specifically the ones you've used.

John at ECZS and Trev are the only people I have purchased rays from had great experiences with both. Trev is more Ideal considering he lives 15-20 minutes away from me but he doesn't usually have marbles

You ever tryd azalea aquarium or skoolz of fish in va.

Alright, I've been to both of the websites. Azalea didn't mention stocking any rays and the store pics made them look like a low quality place. However, Skoolz of Fish looks pretty awesome. They sell rays although tea cups are sold out. Motoro are $120. They also say, "Motoro Marbled,Tiger, Flower, Hystrix, Leopaldi- Ask for special ordering". I assume that means they can get them which is pretty cool, although I'm not sure I'd trust them for "Leopaldi".

I would try to encourage you to go with a CB ray if possible if this is your first ray. Watch the boards out here there are multiple people breeding motoros and marbleds. I should have pups ready to go in May but until they are born never know.

I agree on buying cb. I do have a retic ray now, but am doing my research and prep (one of the best parts of the hobby :)) to expand. That's great that you're expecting, I'll be there one day. Make sure you post the pups when they're born

Sorry to kind of necro this, but have you guys tried h2ocustomaquatics?

I haven't and I'm nowhere near ready to buy a ray anyway, but they caught my eye a few years ago and I wonder how they are as a business.

Buy only CB ones and from somebody you actually know! Too many scammers trying to make a quick buck buy selling people half dead rays! Can't believe people still buy rays without seeing them or watching them eat!
