Check out my signiture for my 55 Gallon.

Some one murdered one of my poor Rosys, Normally I do a fish count twice a day, but I forgot about yesterday. Well today I couldn't find my rainbow or one of my rosys, I found the rainbow. He was hiding by thermometer, which was unusal for him, but I saw him there lat nigh so I didn't think anything of it. Well then I found my rosys chewd up body scales nearly picked clean and chunks missing from his fin.

So who do you think did it? I have never saw that type of aggression before from my fish. The Red tail and the Rainbow tussle every now and then but never to that extent. The only other aggression I have seen is the rainbow guards the feeding ground until he is done eating; but only chases if they come close never seen him bit. Do you think the other rosys killed him?

The Red Tail Shark can be pretty aggressive. But it's hard to say. How big are the Balas? Doesn't look like any of them would eat a Rosy unless the Balas are big. There's a possibility that it died and the Sharks ate it.

I have been watching my rosys and the 2 remaining males are fighting over the females. I would guess the red tail shark or the rainbow over the bala's, I have never seen aggression from them; not even when the rainbow chases them from the food. My bala's are about 3 inches, still babies.

He could have died, I tested water here are the results.

Red tail did it mine killed my gourami which was over twice it's size

The red tail shark usually only kills by harassing the victim til it stops thriving and dies. Bala sharks swallow their food whole. I suspect the barb just died suddenly and the other fish just chewed it up.
