Well in the last 2 days ive had some problems with my 360, in the last 2 day ive had 3 full red rings, and while ive been playing assassins creed ive had lots of flicking on the screen and little weird dots moving about on the picture. is it knacked? Ive had it for just over a yr, and in the last year 3 of my friends have had to get a new console. Mines a core system so my mom and dad said they might just get me a new console as i can just attach the hard drive to the new one, but would i lose my microsoft points and live subscription>? Thanks.

Ya.. I wonder y they keep going off ?

I got a pro..hope nothing happens to it...

Does anyone have a 360 without any probs ????

Full red ring usually means that one of your cords is unplugged. Or else your power supply might be failing. Do you use the intercooler? The intercooler is bad for your power supply. The power supply is really only made to power the 360, so the intercooler makes the power supply to over work and usually eventually stop working.

No i don't use the cooler, the 3rd time i had the ring i made sure the cables were in and it worked maybe it was just a little loose.

the main issue with the red ring of death. is the thermal paste between the cpu and heat sink, is crappy and needs to be cleaned off and re-applied. I have repaired several units this way with new thermal paste. Use arctic silver #5 paste its the best period. But the cpu is heating up too rapidly and the failing thermal paste cant transmit the heat to the heat sink quick enough, therefore it causes emergency shut down and "The Red Ring Of Death"

I must be lucky I was one of the weirds who sat in line 8 hrs for my 360 on release day. Never been happier with a game console purchase. Never had a single problem period out of mine. And when I get a new game I often play 10hrs + straight and then go to sleep without bothering to turn it off. I've left mine on for 4-5 days in a row at times with no issues. Never even seen any red lights. Only issues ive had which i think was game related was bioshock not saving correctly. Which after 20 + hrs of playing sucked to discover that my saves didnt take. Played all the way back thru and it saved fine.
