Who goes giggin for frogs?

So my brother n law are looking to do some frog giggin this summer but mich law says no use of artificial light? Does that mean we can't shine them?

That's how I always saw/read it being done is with a light at night

Yeah, it'd be pretty hard without a light. Let me know what you come up with.

Do you have an actual gig or do you just catch em by hand?

Hard task with no light. I gig every summer down in Arizona for bullfrogs.

The light is the key, they freeze when it's in their eyes. Then you just have to slowly, silently sneak up on them.

Here is a couple hours on the Verde River.

I bought it online, Amazon I think. Then attached it to a collapsible pole. The pre-made gigs at sporting goods stores never last. The spikes are too weak, they bend when you hit rocks and eventually break.
