Its not mine and I don't have a picture but the shop where I used to work had a 3 foot RTC that ate the dead fish. Fortunatley for it (unfortunately for others), that shop was kind of a ****hole and they killed more fish than they sold (I eventually got fired for going behind the owners back and taking care of them while I was supposed to be cleaning floors, tank fronts etc and other less important things, but thats another story.) They kept it in a 125 btw which was cruel IMO because it wasn't for sale and couldn't move. But thats not what this post is about.
What this post is about is the catfish, I'm sure someone has one here that is 3' + that would be comparable, but that thing was power personified. They eventually ran out of tank space for big fish, so they put this big sad RD in the tank too, which was about 1' long and beefy to say the least. Granted more fat than muscle (b/c of lack of room) but pretty tall and wide, didn't look like RTC food. But I guess you can see where I'm going with this because of that comment.
So, one day I come to work and it's choking, with a tail sticking out of it's mouth. I guess it got hungry because there weren't many DF's that week so it decided to eat the devil. We managed to pull the tail off but that was it. There wasn't much I could do (or was allowed to do) to help it, and the poor thing was just trying to swallow the fish for three days. Needless to say it choked, and died on the fourth day. It didn't help that the water had >5ppm ammo and various other waste, but it was a gonner anyways.
After that though, they left it in the tank overnight (bad idea, it smelled awful and rotted a little) I would have Immediately cooked and eaten it if it was mine, but it wasn't so they just left it to rot.
And guess who got to take it out to the trash can?
lol well,
I suppose you could say that theres a moral to this story, and that is-
Never keep a RTC in a 125 with smaller fish and never feed it.
but I'm sure everybody knows that already.
Theres my RTC story. Goodbye
