Who has the oldest Polypterus?

I was just reading another thread where a guy said he owned one of his Bichirs since 1977 or 1978 and thought I would put up a post to see if anyone else has had one longer. Does anyone know what the life span of a P. can be?

15 years is about the aveage but there are reports of a 23 year old and I believe a 30year+-Anne

In the feb TFH mag page 22 they talk about a ornat that is 50yrs old out lived its first owner and is still alive with its second owner.

They can probably live for more than 50 years but of course most probably don't even see a quarter of that.

The oldest I have is probably 2 years lmao. Everytime I get one I usually get rid of it for some reason or another. Now I have two senegals (one albino) and I'm not getting rid of them unless it's a MUST hehe.

Hi well I have had 3 bichrs since 1985 senegalas and a ornate and I have to endlicheri since 1990 they are doing fine never any probloms
