Large bowfin that they are currently keeping or have had in the past? I have 2 juvis approx 8-9" now and wanted to see pics of your bigger bows ...also if you have a large one if possible list origin of collection(for purposes of pattern and coloration) THANKX
 
I have one that is about 4.5" inches but has the oddest pattern I have ever seen. I thought it was gunna go away as he grew but he still has it....? Good luck with yours.

Dmack, I know you guys are planning another Florida adventure. When you do go down, go down old US 41 heading west until you find a spot where the water is moving very little. Use a live shiner and a bobber, you will catch yourself mudfish (bowfins) up to 15 pounds.

Might get you a big bass or a snook as well.

haaaa dont wanna catch any..have caught them before...was just curious to any large tank specimens out there and how big somebody has grown theirs out...I got these guys from uland at bearly 1" and they are awesome tank predators that I plan on keeping for the long haul and growing out very big...just wondered if anyone else had done so.
there were bowfin all through aerojet canal when we were fishing down there last.
 
Dieselmack how long have you had yours. I also got mine at 1" and he seems to be growing in like bursts. He is now about 4.5" long and I have had him for like 3 months.

2 months 8"...he is kept in my feeder tank so he has free will at live minnows constantly...the other is approx 5" and kept in a native tank but fed regularly every other day.
 
you have had him for two months and he is already 8 inches???? You said you got them at barley 1" right??? That is nuts man. Man hasn't grown as fast as either of yours in that case.

This kid DEISELMACK is the authority on Predatory fish as far as i'm concerned,this guy's tanks amass over 3000 gallons(i think) also he has the best looking Peacock Bass i have seen that were not in the Orinoco!!!!!!! DEISEL RULES:):):):):):):)
