I have seriously been thinking about transferring my bichirs from my 180 SA tank to my 240 ray tank..

Some people advise against this... some people have had it work.

I have senegals, ornate, palmas, and some spoonhead looking type I just picked up.

What would you MFKers recommend?

Ive had an endli kill a ray. He is gone now and I have another endli and lapradae with a ray and they are fine. So I don't really know what to tell you except have a backup plan to separate them if need be

Do you have any pics of your lap? I think that is what my new guy is, but he's not showing his pattern, as he is still settling in..

At the store he has green and orangish stripes (faint) running down his body.

I think I'm most worried about my ornate.. he's 12+, and he chomps on whole silversides like it's butter.

I would think, as long as the bichirs are going into the ray tank and dont already have their territory established it may work out. At 12" I would definitely keep an eye on him though. May need a good place to hide. Like stated above, there is always a risk.

Well, I have the new guy in there, and I have this 6" motoro that MUST investigate everything with his mouth, and the bichir just slowly moved away.

The 6" ray often grabs the large males tail, and hitches a ride. haha.

When you shut the lights out...and nobody is lookin...that's when you will find out if you made a mistake or not.
Hope it works out for ya becuase when it does, it's an awsome combination of my two favourite fish.
