Who is breeding p.histrix?

Have been looking for a male histrix for about a year. I almost had one a while ago, but it died right before shipping... I have tried and tried, but no luck so far. It`s very frustrating to have a mature female, when you are unable to get a male

They are obviously pretty hard to get a hold of, and it doesn't seem like many ppl breed them... Its a shame, couse i definitely think they are one of the most beautiful stingrays!

Would be interesting to know if there are anyone here who breeds them?

Seriously though,i believe Wimmels from the Netherlands has some babies due,hes on this forum.
There should be some available this year from Brazil,not sure what the quota will be though.
I have two mature males and a subadult female from my last breeding but unfortunately i havent managed to pick up a mature female since i sadly lost mine.
Im a big fan of this species too....very underated!!!!

It's a ray i want to get next year and have a go at breeding, really should be the most popular as it's one of the rays you can realistically keep for life in the majority of tanks

I had contact with Wim a few days ago, but he haven't responded to my last email, so im not shure how that goes... If i can`t get a pup from him, i shure hope there will be some rays available from Brazil....

Sorry about that, I still need to look into the legal matters about transportation of animals. As I am very busy to finish my new house(and fishroom) I didn't have time to look into it untill now.

But as Richard allready said, I expect Hystrix pups in the coming 2-3 weeks. Picking them up is no problem but I understand that Norway is a bit far away to pick em up.(I am crazy enough to pick up rays almost in Denmark, but Norway is still a bit further)

I understand, no problem.

Usually i have to travel outside of Norway to get what i want... so i am used to that. Germany, Sweden, Denmark... For me that`s not crazy at all - it`s just some times necessary! Right now though it would actually be a problem to find enough time in my "schedule"...
