Who is my fin nipper???

Which one of these fish would be nipping the fins of all the other fish in my aquarium???

These are the fish whom fins have been nipped

1 - My one red parrot and since I only have one I am guessing it is not guilty since I doubt it would be nipping its own fins.

2 - I have 3 mollies and the two females have nipped fins the male is just fine.

3 - All 5 Dojo loaches have their top fin nipped

4 - One of my 5 silver dollars has a nipped fin the other 4 are good.

Now here are the fish with perfect fins.

1 - one Feather fin catfish

2 - one Blue gouramy

3 - four of the five silver dollars

4 - one male molly

5 - one rubber nose pl*co

6 - one pictus catfish

Now who would most likely be the guilty fin nipping fish???

Post a picture of your fish.......May be fin rot.............

I can not get a clear enough picture that shows anything. However I have seen fin rot and and these are nips clean cut nips.

gourami and blood parrot is my guess


sizes so i can be sure?

My thought would be that it is the Gourami as well.

Gourami definately, ive seen gourami eat the tail off of a dying clown knife at a fish store. They would bite in groups though. like 3. It was a very odd thing to watch.

I would say your synodontis (featherfin) catfish is the culprit. These guys can turn on a dime and notice even African cichlids will not mess with them.

Thanks all, I will keep my eyes on those two. I do not want to get rid of the wrong one. The only problem is I think is it happening though the night or early morning.
