Who keeps Koi? with pics!

It's spring time, which here is good ol' PA, that means Pond/Koi season!

I want to know how many MFKers keep koi? Pics?

How many, types, sizes, tank set ups..

I'll start:

6,000 gallon pond (in build process)
1,500 gallon indoor pond
600 gallon QT tank outside

1500 gallon currently holds over 100 koi ranging 2" to 25".
600 holds 13 new koi all 12"+ except for 1 small guy.

I have all different varieties: Gin Rin, Doitsu, Sanke, Showa, Ochiba.. Imports, and American Bred from the Best farms in the US!

this is where my koi come from, and he has great shipping rates. He's a great guy. He's local to me, so I get to hand pick my koi.

Here in the eastern part of PA., the former fish-room supervisor at Pets Plus filled the 300G store tank with koi. Unfortunately they didn't sell that many. Here is a picture I took of the tank.

Yeah, Koi in petstores don't sell to often. And it's mainly because of price.

Why buy a culled petstore koi for $20 that's emaciated, when you can buy one for $15 at a pond store or koi dealer? That's pretty much the outlook on it.

I own 1 koi that was bought at Petco, and I love him!

I don't have any koi, but I've always thought they are cool. Someday, I'd like to have a large outdoor pond for them.
