these guys often come mixed in with other african cichlids but they make great pets. I like tem better then polystigma & venustus

Great fish to have with a Malawi tank. I agree they are nicer than the venestus. Great to see how big they can get but also a little wary in that at that size it will be difficult to introduce new smaller fish into a tank with them in it as they might just snack on the new fish.

Thanks.... they seem fairly peacefull for cichlids I think if you have a 75gal or larger you could introduce them and be ok.

petco always has some in the mixed tank. That might be my next tank idea. go with a Poly, Ven and Livi mix.

Def gonna do sand cause I read sometime they lie in it for an ambush.
