I've had them before and I'm tempted every time I see them in a store but I've had them in freshwater.I will try them in brackish when I can set aside some space for a tank but for now I'd like to see who has them in their tanks.

No silver keepers on here?

I used to. They do their best in brackish, for the long term anyway. I had 2 fully grown Silvers in a brackish tank, and never had a problem with disease.

On the other hand, I bought a young pair of Silvers and kept them in a freshwater setup while I waited for my brackish tank to get set up. Despite my best efforts they kept falling prey to white spot.

Got any pics?

i have a 4-5" in a 130g fresh, bought him at about 1.5". i love it, very active and flashy fish. if it ever dies, i will have to buy a few more and set up a big brackish or salt tank.

never hard of silver but I heard of the regular ones.

^ i know of green, silver, reds and those vertically striped ones (whatever they're called). i like them all a lot! any more than that? i'll try to get a pic up when i get home... if i can remember.

The vertically striped one is called S.tetracanthus-African Scat. They are very hard to come by and very expensive when they are in stock.

I WANT PICS!!!
