Contemplating getting one,in the research stage currently but would like to see pictures and accounts of those who have them.

I don't, but you may want to also ask some folks on planet catfish. It appears that one person has spawned them in capitivity:

I have one for over a year and half now... I just purchased another one but haven't seen it since as I don't see alot of my plecos until I tear the tank apart to adjust equipment and do deep cleaning.... this pleco gets quite really along with my sultan plecos who doesn't play nice with alot other plecos... so far the blue panaque has passed with flying colors as the sultans ingore mine unlike other plecos sp. in the past.
I think they're one of my favorite panaques besides the flash.
