  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Another good way to tell is to sit it on something flat with good light above you and the cards underneath. Take the top off and look into it, abit easier to match the color up that way. Or at least I think so.

If it where me, I'd call it 8.0

8 is high though, damn. My green terror doesn't seem to be bothered by it maybe he just got used to it

Lol my ph is in the deep purple range

all different types, currently discus, rays and a lima catfish

My first impression is also 8.1, and the GT should be fine, they come from western S American where water is alkaline.
I just googled your areas drinking water quality report.
You tap pH is above neutral (7.5-8) the alkalinity is low (27-49)
low alkalinity doesn't buffer well, and can allow minerals from fish urine to build up.
DRINKING WATER QUALITY - City of Gloucester
Your tank pH is slightly higher than the tap, which may mean, something in your tank is rasing your pH (maybe a limestone rock(?)), or crushed coral, or you are not doing enough water changes, and detritus is creating a the rise.
Where lived, during lake turnover, alkalinity and pH would rise when detritus from the lake was pushed up into the water column.
