I have a soft spot for "irregular" fish. If a fish has something wrong with it I don't mind. I know a lot of people won't bring home a fish if there is something imperfect about. I don't mind as long as its healthy. Sure some of these guys should have been culled. But lets face it thats almost barbaric in some ways. Like killing ugly puppies, if it is for the fishes own good okay, you know health reasons. My favorite oscar is an albino I got half grown from my lfs. He was a drop off, I saw he was missing his left pelvic fin and asked the shop owner if I could see closer to make sure it wasn't bit off. It was smooth, no scar just missing. Brought him right home. I see pictures of plenty of MFK fish that have abnormalities and everybody always comments on that first.

I just wanted to rave a little about that, they are pets. If someone posts a picture of a fish that has gill curl, drop eye, HITH scars, etc. Try not to dwell on that aspect. The fish can be very healthy and have past scars. Let it be, someone loves that fish.

My larger Red Devil was born with 1 eye, I had to have him immediately. I love the oddballs.

I almost got a tetra with an irregular spine today at petco

Yeah I just bought a Trimac for my 180G that was the most beat up in the tank. He was quite a bit smaller than the rest so was obviously being picked on. He was being housed with bigger GT's too.

He's in QT at the moment but I'm sure when he's healed up he'll probably be the bully of my tank!

my large pimelodus blochii has cataracts in an eye and my smallest pangasius catfish only has one eye. they just seem more personable

thecanuck has a sailfin tang with a deformed fin or something that he loves

Good old dent head my rescue my urau had HITH too his fins are not perfect too but still cute.

I also just got a 3.5" discus with bigger eyes then he should have some discus people might look down on him but I love him. My ebjd is not perfect.

Here is dent head.
