I need some imput on high quality test kits I need to shop online my stores dont carry anything of good quality...

I'm looking for something that dosent require clear water for accurrate ammonia readings my plec tank is heavly tea stained so the normal test tube kits are not accurate I'm border-line toxic ammonia according to my ammonia kit so it is crucial i get a pro kit to determine if I'm over feeding this is how i keep track of uneaten foods and govern my ammounts to this..

hey fishnutham could this be what is causing my ammonium problem? I use the aquarium pharm kit and its a test tube kit. I just added new driftwood that is staining my water and I am border also. My test srtips are doing it as well though would tannins affect them as well?

just because your water is as it is .. no test kit should effect this... i my self like tetra's kit and even more so RED sea kits for my salts... but here the good and FREE test... your city, town or county can give u a FREE test.... if u bring then a sample that will be right on the money

wont effect test strips only vials were you need to view the slight difference in color in the water most ammonia test kits start at off white to yellow the tea stain already has a off white giving a 0.2 reading just curious though what are your readings again ammonia stays in a less toxic form in low ph usally 7.0 being nuteral much higher and you willl have problems and i would advise you not to trust test strips they are best for quick checks for any signs of problems use a powder or a liquid test especialy for ammonia .
