Hi who needs UV for fish tanks? and for 36 or 39 watts UV light how big is the tank it can handle? Thanks.

Too simplistic?
Tanks with an overabundance of light, causing green water algae.
Hospital/quarantine tanks. (bacteria, pathogens)
Sudden unforeseen illnesses in tank. (bacteria, pathogens)
As a precautionary measure. (algae, bacteria, pathogens)
As a sterilizer use on <500g, as a clarifier 2000g (sometimes just a matter of dwell time vs lamp power).
