I was wondering how many people use dechlorinateor when doing water changes. I use Novaqua + but there have been times I forgot with no adverse affect. What are everyone’s thoughts on this?

Depend on if your water have chlorine or chloramine and how many percentage of water you change. Chloramine is harder on the fish and it doesn't evaporate. If you're just changing 10-20% of water in a huge tank then it doesn't really matter IMO.

Yes, I do too, but like I said I have to admit I have forgotten a couple of times. I do big water changes too like 50-75% weekly. I suppose if you live in an area where they add massive amounts. To be totaly honest I don't know how much is in my water supply I should find out.

I think it also depends on the type of fish.. My flowerhorn's and red devil's could live out of my toilet bowl I bet but my sturio can't take the slighest change in water..

On a well, no I didn't but now on tow water. Every time, no exceptions.

API tap water conditioner. Cheap, effective and can be bought easily by the gallon. Its far better for the fish than any of the stress coats as it lacks assorted "aloe to help slime coat" crap fillers.

I use it. I suspect that my fish themselves would survive if I didn't, but I fear my bacteria would die if I forgot to. Then the fish would indirectly suffer a mini-cycle. That's what I've gathered in my own mind, anyway.

I use prime every time. I have also forgotten to add it with no ill effects. I use it as a precaution really. I know people who don't use anything in my immediate area, and all their fish are fine. I just always have used it, and it's hard to stop. I'm addicted to dechlorinator :nilly:
