how much water do you change on your tanks weekly. i change at least 100% weekly cause i think water changes are the single most important thing in keeping fish and having them be happy and healthy. and if anyone wants to say what their water bill is please share thanks
there are only trace amounts beneficial bacteria in the water, they all live in the biomedia inside the filter or sump. I change 50% 2x a week on my big tank and 50% on my smaller tanks once a week.
the bacteria is in the filter media. and my fish are healthier and grow faster than most id change 200% if i could afford it. ive never tested my water nor had a fish die from an ammonia spike. mel o mera is probably the best cichlid keeper in the worrld and he does daily water changes on a 600 gallon of 10% with two weekly 80% wc weekly also.and he prolly has the largest captive dovii in the world. get your facts straight
I do approx 35% weekly in all of my tanks, 50% in my overstocked 125g. Thankfully, the local pH in the tap is high or I would do less frequent changes.
I do 50 % weekly in the summer and 50% biweekly in winter. I do more in summer cuz if there is any toxins in the water they'r more harmful on higher temperatures.
