who if any of you were impressied with the fish episode? and what did you think about that river monsters episode i love those golith tigers i want one so bad its rediculess. other than the fish episode life has been pretty good but i was let down by fish.

I watched it, or tried rather. lol... Oprah's voice put me to sleep lol! I have actually seen African tigers. This guy near me in Tacoma, WA was selling two that were about 10". they are gnarly looking!!! I never seen them before, and when I saw the episode, I was like HEY! Those are that fish... just MONSTROUS!

Oh, I missed the Life - Fish episode. Hoping to catch it again. Saw the ending with the Jawfish.

As for River Monsters episode of ATF, great to see Jeremy catch one. As for the premise of the show, whether the Goliath ATF is that aggressive...hmm. Im not convice that they would attack humans or jump out of the water to grab people. At least from my experience of raising a Vittatus ATF, they are great at hunting fish but not aggressive enough to attack anything big as or bigger than themselves. Mine was able to cohabitate with cichlids, catfish, eels..etc

As oppose to Piranha, they would attack big prey when they are hungry enough.

I was a little disappointed with both. Life had some great footage but I was really hoping there would be more freshwater stuff. The schooling anchovies and spawning snapper are cool, but that kind of footage has been aired many times before on other shows (Blue Planet, Planet Earth etc.). Overall, wasn't as wowed as I had been with Planet Earth.

River Monsters was mostly annoying as usual. The show desperately tries to create a bunch of drama where none really exists. You have to deal with an hour of crap just to see 1 minute of decent footage of a cool fish at the end. In pretty much every episode local fisherman have already caught and recorded the fish in question, but until the great white hunter Jeremy arrives to catch one for himself, we're supposed to wonder whether the fish are real or just part of local mythology. I mean, GATFs are commercially available in the aquarium trade - of course they exist! How is catching one of them supposed to prove whether or not they've ever been involved in attacks on humans?

I really liked it. Just wanted to see some of the fish us MFK'er kept in our tanks on that program.

Eh Life was sub par...

I would have liked to see more about FW fish; it was about 90% SW . . .

and like some others, I am generally finding this new series tough to watch because I cannot stand Oprah's droning, pretentious narration . . . gawd, she sucks the "life" out of everything . . .

I feel like Life is kind of a let-down since planet earth. The fish one I thought was kinda cool. I really think River Monsters can be enjoyed by watching the last 10 minutes. He never catches the fish until then, so just flip it on with 10 left and your good.
