ive got a 14 inch ornate bichir that attacked my 14 inch jag 3 times now and my jag ran the first 2 times then shoved him out of his territory the 3rd time. this is very unusual to me to think a ornate would attack a jag. i brought this up over in the polypterus forum and i got alot of responses the ornate will death roll the jag and kill it. i do not see this happening and just kind of wandered what you guys think over here in the central american forum. im going to have see it for my own eyes to believe it other then that i think the jag will just keep shoving him out of his area

IMO with both being the same size, if the Jag wanted that thing dead it would do it pretty quickly.
A 14 inch Jag has some pretty serious dentage. I am going to have to give it to the Jag.
But I know very little about Bichir's agression.

I would think the ornate would have to be alot larger than the jag in order for it to death roll it. A jag has to much mass compared to the ornate. And that would have to be one hungry ornate to risk itself trying to kill and eat a jag.
