I was looking in the 40 gallon calvus tank and in one of the large shells were a couple of calvus fry so we decided not to risk the few of them getting eaten so we take out the shell with the babies ad start poring them into a little countainer and a few come out, then we fill the shell up and empty it several times and they just keep coming... long story short the few fry turn into 105 fry... to me this semes like a large ammount of fry for a 3.5 inch fish what are your guys thoughts or is this just a normal batch?

Might be a lil low even! My girls 2" Molly can pop out 80-90 live babies. They probably started with 200-250. Still 105 is still damn good though! GL!

I guess so we just have 4 of them and it just happened... thanks bruner

No worries! Honestly I can't think what a calvus even looks like n I've never kept any. But I know a 3.5" fish can surprise you with how many eggs they can produce!if it their 1st time the # could be small! Seems 1st couple times are always lil lower.GL with them!

ok thanks how big were they when they lay eggs?
