I’m looking for some recommendations on good wholesalers. Mainly for cichlids and smaller fish such as tetras etc. Looking for someone who carry’s both common and more difficult to find fish. I’ve tried searching and haven’t been able to find much, so hoping someone can point me in the right direction!
I’m fine with importing as well.

Fish wholesalers only sell to retail fish stores so it's doubtful you will be able to find one willing to sell to an individual.

Importing fish is a whole different thing as you would need to be licensed by your state and meet all kinds of requirements. You should be able to find the requirements on your state's business website.

Are you going to start a tropical fish business?
A friend of mine, who managed a LFS, and I, combined an order from a fish farm exotic tropicals in Fl, their minimum order at the time, was $300 of fish, not counting shipping, but I believe we doubled that with both our orders together.
I wanted some rare (at the time, in the 90s) Malagasy cichlids, Paretroplus nourisatti) and the 6 fish I wanted, went for more $300 from the farm.
Of late I usually buy from trusted sources like COA, Daves Rare Cichlids, TUIC , or Wet spot, where a fish minimum order is smaller (maybe only $100,) not counting shipping).
I believe some of these places, may have retail prices when the order is large enough (maybe).

I work at a store, trying to find a place to get some stock in before we open.

I am a direct importer of wild fish and also offer some captive bred wild type species. About 40% of my business here at TUIC is sent to wholesalers, zoos, universities, and Museums. ;) (its why some of you miss out on fish that just get posted, the wholesalers grab them up right away)
I ship domestic and international. I have no minimum order size (qty or dollar amount) for wholesale or retail within the US.
visit www.tangledupincichlids.com the stock list is updated weekly. Currently the stock list is 'weak' imo, due to me not bringing much in while preparing for holiday break and preparing room for new year collections to arrive.
