Is there something in the water or something? I have like three "breeding pairs" of female cichlids in separate tanks. Some of them are even hybridizing with females of other species. I get one random pair of egg bound females doing the "next best thing" to get the eggs out, but 3 at the same time? With males available?

Maybe there is really something in the water.
Some breeders add easy breeding species like Cichlasoma dimerus to a tank with more difficult to spawn cichlids like Hoplarchus. The breeding Cichlasoma release hormones which often trigger the other cichlids to spawn within a few days.

Very interesting, forgot about that. People do that with guppies and plecos too. I have limia perugiae in one of the tanks, but the other two don't have anything going on.
