Why? I know Bat Rays get bigger but they are only found on one coast. Cownose Rays fight relentlessly and don't always take bait. They are highly spookable. They're harder to catch but also alot more fun, as they can be caught by sight-fishing in a few feet of water.
That's how I caught mine.

thnk of it this way which sounds cooler

well.. considerin we dont have cownose here... i guess im just gunna stick with batrays.

What, just cuz they don't live there you don't fish for them? What kind of excuse us that? I fish for Marlin in Clove Lake! Duhh!
JK. I meant that a good amount of google options for Bat Ray involve gamefishing but Cownose = aquarium touchtanks:confused:

hmm.. idk... i thought you meant why do people target them..?

basicly you target them the same way... but on the Gulf they are regarded as bait... so they are worth a pretty penny if you decide to sell them to a sharker.

ppl do use em as bait for Sharks and Goliath Grouper but in CAlif they have Sharks, Giant Grouper, and Giant Seabass

ya i know. im reluctant to try them. i know its legal. but what are the chances of getting a Mako on a ray in Cali? lol.

for Black sea bass, white sea bass, and other sharks, we just use Mackerel, Bonito, and burrtios.
