i recently got a trio of geophagus altrifrons from a fish auction. They were labeled "sp. rio tapajo." is there anything special i should know about altrifrons? i've had them for about 2 weeks and they hide constantly. they barely come out for blood worms.

they are in a 45 with 2x brasiliensis and 1x jurupari. this is not their life home. my ph is about 6.8, hardness is 120, and alkalinity is 80

they've been in 3 weeks. no dithers but the other 3 eartheaters are active. the larger brasiliensis does a little chasing but the altifrons have twice as much mass. they are thick torpedos!

Dang . . . then maybe they are just natural scaredecats, lol.

They're not G. altifrons, perhaps Aequidens latifrons (possible mixup). They're definitely some kind of Aequidens.

thanks, the writing on the bag was smeared and the only part i'm sure about is the "rio tapajos"
