i have for angels in a 75 gal tank in there is also 2 balas and a 11" clown knife. all of the angels hide in the back left top corner of the tank most of the day. and rarely swim around. the clown knife does eat fish but he only chases what he can eat and never bites at the angels . any ideas? could this be a chemical problem. (my test strips say no) does anyone know how important it is to have black water when dealing with angels?

Sometimes I get angels that like to cower in the back. I find that dither fish help a lot.

Black water is unimportant (they live and breed very well in a broad pH range).

I think the size of the clown knife might be intimidating them. I dont think they are sick as they do swim around occasionally. I think they might be just frightened.

i think you have skittish angels as well. Try moving them to another tank or move the knifefish away for some tiem and see if they are less frightened. If thats not the problem then u might just have some wussy angels. Id double check your parameters as well

im begining to believe that they are just sissy's i've had one for a couple months and he sticks with the other three most of the time but he is always the first to venture out to the rest of the tank and shortly after the others that i got a couple weeks ago follow. at least on of the angels has reason to be afraid. he swam down into the clown knifes slate cave while the ck was out. i can tell you he freaked out! went blazing through his cave after the angel (ended up scraping himself on a rock:cry: but not too badly) but once the angel had gotten out of his territory he didnt persist the chase. unfortunatly i dont have any room to get another tank to try moving them. im in a dorm style room so my 12x14 is the bedroom living room and kitten for two people along with having a 75 gallon tank in it! :naughty: :headbang2

id put anything on it being the clown knife
