I have 10 tiger barbs and I recently got a bichir, they are nipping at him all the time. I have a similar sized tiretrack eel and they dont bother him. Also is there any way to stop them

It's just in their behavior. I had the exact same situation, and one of my bichirs actually ended up dying. Not sure if it had anything to do with the tiger barbs, but it might well have.

Nothing you can do really. Maybe get a few more tiger barbs if your tank will allow it to keep them occupied?

Not sure if that would work though. Just a suggestion. :)

remove one or the other, and chances are they leave the TT alone because it likely bites back.

They've picked out your bichir to be a victim. They will bug the bichir to the point of raising his stress level to unbearable heights. Remove him.

Birchers are slow easy pickings for Tiger Barbs. Normally a group that big ignores other fish but when they find a easy target you have to move it.

theres clown loaches in my school of tiger barbs that are also nipping at the bichir, if I get rid of the tiger barbs will the clown loaches still nip my bichir?
