Why can't they be caught?!

My cousin wants a Desert Iguana, I told him, that you can find them out here. And so I knew I shouldn't have opened my big mouth, so now he wants me to help him catch one for him. And I told him that their real fast.

So my question is, how do you catch a Desert Iguana? I tried to catch one earlier... but that came out in a total failure. I never really thought about catching one before, but then damb... those little guys are like bullets. So how am I supposed to catch one of these little guys? I have tried a net and bare hands, but no luck... :( So any tips would be nice.
 
good luck man these are like bullets, my work has a couple and i hate opening that tank up. I dont have any good pointers to give you just keep trying.
 
Net catching wild lizards is VERY hard with just your hand they don't survive by being slow i would say once you get close to it sprint at it and try and net it don't try to sneek up and them grab it from a dead start to full speed a lizard will beat you everytime
 
I kind of gathered that. :D Thanks for the advice, I'm trying again in the morning, around 9:00. Thats when they start to bask, so since their still warming up I might have a better chance. And another thing that doesn't help is how this obnoctious black stray cat, keeps following me around the desert.

A Stray Cat will kill the local wildlife, find he/she a home.
