Top is Black spotted sunfish and bottom is redspotted sunfish, both are subspecies of spotted sunfish.

I'm pretty sure that punctatus and miniatus are distinct species. At least according to an American currents article on redspotteds a few months back. Both are still beautiful fish though.

Definitely worth a collecting trip for these guys at some point, be nice to establish a breeding colony in a big tank

+1 lol sun fish is easy to breed they spawn like rabbits from what ive seen and heard lol

Lol, if I ever do get to do a trip for these guys I'd grab several dozen, keep 6 for myself and ship some to whoever else wants them then sell the rest on the marketplace forum, I doubt it'd be difficult to sell these guys

Whenever I build my dream fish room for breeding natives, so... about 8-10 years lol.
