i have had my baby silver for about two months and it has been so humble and calm. she has grown about double in size (about 5") and seems very healthy. just recently she started freaking out and jumping and swimming into the glass every time i enter the room. why could this be? i do 25-30% water changes every other day and the params seem fine. thanks fellow MFKers!

tank mates?

Have you had any need to do something to the tank? In the tank? anything you had to catch in that tank? Is the tank well iluminated?

She is afraid of you. This happens even with 1 foot long ones. My group of 4 is in one of those phases! Freaks me out...

Anyone in your house that may be tapping the tank and spooking the aro?

Are the tank lights on when you enter the room?

I find, after all these years, that this is one of the main factors with aro's....they hate darkness and being surprised by shadows in the dark...

The tank is well illuminated and none of the tank mates are aggressive. Also, She is in a 30 gallon grow out tank and there is no one here that taps on the glass. Nothing has changed since I got her, she just started doing this and I'm afraid she may hurt herself.

does she act normal when you're not around? how does she eat?
I wold suggest that you stop those water changes for the time being. See what gives... Too much messing around the tank ( for her, anyway...)

Maybe slow down movements when around her.:D

If I hide away from the tank and watch her, she still acts weird.
