This morning when I turned the lights on I noticed my Lima shovelnose didnt scurry to his hiding spot, he layed out in the open most of the morning then I noticed that he had these whit fuzz balls all over his barbels and nowhere else but I still isolated him in my hospital tank which is right at 82 degrees added aquarium salt and treated for ich, when I checked on him again around 8 he was dead, does anyone have an idea of what happened to him?

White fuzz balls sound like fungus to me, it is possible he had it Internally and it finally got him

Also keep a close eye on that tank, the white fuzz balls could have been the fruiting body of the fungus which means spores could be in there. Don't freak out though I'm no expert, just one possibillity
