Hi guys, i have 9 discuses in my 55 gallon tank. They all about 2-4" big. Its been a week since i got them. They always hide together like a huddle in the bottom of the tank. WHY!!!
my water is excellent. Amm 0, Nitr 0, Nitrate <5
I have a stocked AC110 and 70 filter running.
Temp is 86
ph is 6.5
Light is on 8 hrs a day.

should i add some other different kinds of fishes in there to let them know this tank is okay and nothing to be afraid of? Like some rams and tetras.

Heres some pics

get some more stuff in that tank, that school isn't large enough for the discus to be secure. Dithers will help, as it will make them feel more comfortable.

Yep, until they get a bit larger they'll look for out of the way places. Don't fret, give them a pot to hide in and a couple more plants.

I kind of regret putting rummynoses in one of my discus tanks. They seem more skittish than the discus and seem to cause them to startle sometimes.

Anything you put in the tank after the discus are already in there will probably take some time to get used to. Since they aren't that comfortable I'd put the cover on the other side or in the middle to start with.

Just fed them some Frozen bloodworms for the first them, they starting to swim to the top and bottom now, i guess thats an improvement. Also got some rams, will post an update later

I'd just get driftwoods. If you plan to add fish, quarantine them first before putting them in your discus tank or you will regret it for not doing so.

That school is plenty large for them to feel comfortable.
