Why do dogs eat their,other's crap?

My dog's a real cutie but i really don't like her habit of eating other dog's and possibly cat's crap,though she sometimes abstains. Do you guys know why dogs eat poop.any funny suggestions are welcome.

My dogs dont eat their poop they wont even look at it. I think its sort of different for each dog. Cause my friends english bulldog will eat anything. from a whole tube of thooth paste to a pearl necklace.

One of the worst beahvious to correct, Coprophagia. I once had a Bordeaux ***** I had to give away , so disgusting was her addiction...My wife and children were no longer coping with that and I could not correct it...

At the time I had 4 dogs with me and no other had this habit.

I know some people that I'm pritty sure have this habit, at least their breath leads me to believe it.
