This is why Oscars should not be sold in such high volumes. People think they are some undestructable predator that will eat anything and everything. They are the most misconceived fish, other then Pirhanas.

Long Story Short -

A guy bought an Oscar from PetSmart, a huge one infact, but they sold it to him for the small sized oscars just to get rid of it. He said he has had Oscars before, and they shouldnt be concerned about the good home he would be giving it. He took it home, put it in his bath tub, and fed it chicken and beef. It died the next day, and he came back and wanted a refund?


WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?!?!?!

(My old boss at PetSmart gave him an earful, and would never let him buy fish again)

here in sweden you must be certified to be aloud to work in a pet shop... despite this i had to help the girl at the store when i was there picking up a delivery today... she had no idea where to put the new fish. she didn't want to mix different color platys but thought it was ok to put five black ghosts together and to keep a RTC and a shovel nose together in a 30gal tank.

i think you can specialize in different things and the rodent/cat/dog/horse-girls sometimes get stuck with selling fish. even if they have basic knowledge but lack serious interrest i think they're in the wrong department.
