I have noticed quite a lot of people like keeping freshwater tarpons in aquariums. They have an interesting silver look, but aside from that, they look like a very simple fish. However, there seems to be some kind of appeal to them that I don't see. Can anyone tell me, why might you have a tarpon in your aquarium? I understand opinions vary but I want to know what people find so appealing about this fish.

Tarpon fishing is popular and it's fun to watch these fish underwater. The Indo-Pacific tarpon is a tarpon that many can house versus Atlantic tarpon which grows to many feet. Indo-Pacific grows to only 1.5' in freshwater (versus 3' in salt).

When my quintet was small, several inches, I couldn't believe how flexible and agile they were. I don't think I've ever seen a fish that could beat them at that. It's like they had no bones.
