Hi all,
i posted a thread on here the other day (is my ray rare) and found in some of the replys that their rays actually lost their spots. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know why this happens? There's one guy on my other thread has posted pictures of his ray before and after she lost her spots and i could not believe it's the same ray. Would like to hear your thoughts please.

Its pretty easy guys, im not a scientist or anything, but i sure as hell dont look the same as when i was 11 years old myselfe.. I do not belive there is stress envolving in this prosess, just ageing.. Nature at its course, simple as that.

i agree with the aging.
i'm thinking stress-wise, moreso on BD's, you see their spots running and fading when they get all stressed out.

2x on that!

But as said, several people have had this happen before(on this type of ray), and its just as simple as nature doing its thing :) It has happend before, and that in good ray keppers hands, so i think its just nature taking its course!

Thanks for your replies guys it's just that i have not seen this before, i'm aware of running spots on black rays.I have a superspot and she looks sweet so would be a shame to see her change but if thats life then thats how it goes.

exactly. you see it very often especially in older retics, losing their patterns and going a more solid coloration.

*crosses fingers hoping mine retain their patterns but aware they might not*

Genetics some rays will grow more spots with age and some will loose.doesn't matter the species.it happened to me.my p13 lost a full row of probably 30-40 spots.when it's stressed out i can see those spots hiding away but when she's dark black you cannot see any of them ,which leads me to thinking my ray will grow them back again.only time will tell
