somewhere
bite at the side of the tank?

my orange belly snapper does this, as did my previous snapper occasionally (iirc) also cant remember if any other turtle species i had did

what do they see?

at least shes in a giant plastic container and not glass, so i dont havta worry about her hurting herself, but its hella annoying lol, its so loud

The only thing I can think of would be a reflection, or maybe not getting enough of food?

I have 7 turtles, and none of them do this.

theres absolutlely no reflection lol

ive had her since Dec 09, and shes now 5 1/2 in shell wise, and just as fat as any snapper lol

hm....... idk lol, i feed her everyday - every few days, although i need actual turtle food now

still though, even if its hunger, idu what shes seeing lol, she even bites at bubbles at the surface sometimes lol

she is practicing for when your hand goes in the tank

its funny cause ive caught over 30 snapping turtles in my life, and only been been TWICE

both by ones ive owned, one of which is this one, although the former was a defensive responce, and this one was food (they were both really small, so it didnt break the skin, but it still hurt like hell)

eh........... idt thats the reason ^__^; lol
