my peacock eel wont come out of the gravel even tho there are hollow pieces of driftwood that my fire eel hides in i dont even sea him eat do i need more peacock eels or does he need salt wAt is the problem?

all eels will burry into the substrate. my tt eel did that for the first couple months that i got him and now he is always out and about. dont worry its natural for them to do that.

after i started feeding mine lve blackworms it came out a lot more

tamer they are the more likely they are to be seen. My fire eels are like puppydogs. always flitting out to see me when I walk into the room. They handfeed earthworms and frozen bloodworms. my TT after 1 month is still very shy though we are working on being buddies. earthworms are the greatest bribe I've found, he comes out and grabs it from me then darts back. also if you have a spiney in w/ your fire. the fire may also be aggressive towards it which is why it's hideing, not from you. but from it's tankmate.

i havent seen mine in months never comes out

Spiny eels like to bury themselves in the substrate. They are a pain to sell at the store because of the behavior.

Here are 2 videos...I have two Macrognathus aral Eels...One started eating about 2-3 weeks after i got him on bloodworms and started coming out of the sand and is out all day now! The other one is more picky about eating and still sniffs them taking very few and he is thin but is eating more...He is also out most of the day but mostly chills out.
